I went to Seoul in April 2016 as the Engineering Design Manager for the PMC based in the GSE&C 'EPC' office based in Korea, they had been awarded the project from the project consortium.
I based there for a year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The project encompassed land and marine based design requirements. The offshore Jetty provided the LNGC & FSU berthing facility and also enabled the LNG process connections from the FSU to the adjacent Regasification Platform.
The marine / climate challenges were significant, providing endless debate where the time differences between clients and contractors based on all continents around the globe, provided numerous challenges.
The route for the outgoing gas pipeline to the onshore metering and distribution to the main caused many navigational issues that will never be forgot.
When I see this finished Jetty, I recall the first layouts and 3D model development meetings, it's great to see the finished facility.
Very proud to be part of such a great project, thanks to all those that worked on the project.
Kind Regards, Garry T.
