The 60% Model review is a significant date in the design development calendar of the project.
As Engineering Manager for the PMC, I've spent many hours detailing the engineering criteria, the plant ergonomics and the operational requirements, the model now reflects this effort with great clarity.
From the development of the original layout master plan, where the significant building areas such as the Nitrogen Production Facility, Administration Building, Sub station, Warehouse and Control room were accommodated, the main process areas could then start to evolve.
The Pig Launcher and Receivers were located in line with the limitations of the Horizontal Directional Drilling criteria, with the Fire water and diesel storage tanks following in line with operational and codes.
Once the main areas are allocated, the detail within clarifies itself with the progress od design and procurement.
3D models area fabulous tool, the development and progress is always great to witness. The 30% model review produced nearly 100 observations for review, this next review enables us to track how these issues have been incorporated or rejected.
