LNG Tanks - Hydrostatic Testing of the Inner Tank.

Our LNG Tanks are being built in Malaysia, far away from a bountiful supply of fresh water, therefore, seawater becomes the next alternative.

It's critical that the inner tank is checked for leaks at this stage of construction, as finding a leak when it is full of LNG will cause numerous issues.

The tank integrity tests form an integral part of the construction sequence, this is further complicated when using sea water, as contamination becomes a major control item. This cause further delays due to the subsequent cleaning requirements, so it has to be planned and controlled in minute detail.

The construction of the sea water inlet facility, with pumps and filters, can't be ignored as it burns numerous man hours and construction time.

Tank 1 has passed the test, now we just have to repeat the same for Tank 2.
