I lived and worked in Abu Dhabi (2007 / 2008) working for ETA as the Project / Construction Manager on the Khalidiya Palace project. We were the MEP contractor to Nurol (the Main Contractor) with some 450 construction and design engineers on site.
One hotel and three apartment towers constructed on a beach front location right opposite the Emirates Palace site.
The inner atrium provides a spectacular feature of the main hotel, it was a great pleasure to return to Abu Dhabi last year to see the finished building and all it has to offer.
Building construction is always rewarding as you get to see the fruits of your hard work grow every day.
I've been lucky to work on a number of iconic building projects such as a Building 530 for Pfizer in Sandwich and the Dow Chemical Campus in Shanghai, all providing great engineering, logistic and coordination challenges.
Looking forward to the next multi storey building project, wherever that maybe.
