This week I travelled to Japan to attend the Pre-Inspection Meeting (PIM) for the ORV's.
The ORV's are a critical component in the regasification process, this is where the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG at -162 degrees C) meets the relatively warm sea water (at +10 degrees C). The transfer of heat warms up the LNG to enable it to gasify into NG (Natural Gas).

The ORV's are manufactured by Kobelco who are one of only two such suppliers in Japan, the site is huge employing some 10,000 + people, with a foundry and huge manufacturing sheds for ship crankshafts and other large components.
Another great visit to Japan where the technical expertise, hospitality and food are second to none.
