Our On-Shore facility (ORF) is on reclaimed land within a harbor facility. In order to connect the ORF with the Off-Shore Regasification Platform, we need to HDD from the ORF, under the harbor wall to then penetrate through into the sea bed, providing a route for the pipes and cables alike.
HDD is a great way to solve these problems and is used throughout the world to navigate difficult routes where both water and considerable landmarks cause issues.
A pilot drill then reamer provide the required hole diameter, then a duct or pipe is pulled through the hole to complete the route.
