The Re-condenser and BOG (Boil off Gas) Compressor are at the heart and soul of the regasification process.
The LNG throughput of the facility and it's efficiency rely heavily on the Process Engineers getting the size and balance of these plant items correct. Many design hours are spent deliberating over the Heat and Material Balance and the operational requirements of the facility.
Gas Flaring is not desirable from either an environmental or operational cost perspective, these two plant items play a major role in avoiding both issues, further emphasizing the importance of this equipment.
This equipment will reside on our offshore platform, therefore the weight and ergonomics of operation are also critical to the structural design and weight distribution.
With the design work done, the suppliers have been selected and the 3D model has been created, so I'm looking forward to the 30% model review that starts next week, the first week of 2017, a great opportunity to see how all our hard work has come together.
