Tank 1 air lift was completed a number of months ago, with the reinforcement and concrete pour work now complete, the plinths, bunds and sacrificial concrete are nearly done.

Congratulations to all the Darlington based design engineers, the majority don't get to see the fruits of their work in person, but the sense of achievement remains the same.
These LNG tanks are two of the largest double containment LNG tanks in the world, built on reclaimed land from the sea. Many of the design and construction challenges will remain hidden, but the pain and the glory will not.
I'm now working on a completely different LNG project in Seoul Korea destined for construction in Bahrain, but I look forward to similar momentous milestones as this one.
